Cross Base
Built into the top of a wall about 100 metres south of Easky Abbey is the cross base pictured below. As you can see from the image, the base is almost completely covered in ivy. I imagine it is probably hard to find during the summer months. From the Abbey head south on the Main Street (R297), look along the wall just before you come to the public bench. I presume the base came from the abbey, recently two fragments of a cross were found within the abbey church, but they may be part of different cross. The base is about a metre in length with a deeply cut, rectangular socket. We strongly recommend a visit to the nearby Abbey and the Tower House at Bunowna, AKA Roslee Castle.
